Where the Y U No meme comes from
The character's face was adapted from a panel in the Japanese manga Gantz and was first paired with the 'Y U NO' text on Tumblr around 2010 by a user addressing a cell phone carrier. It spread rapidly through Reddit, 9gag, and Memebase and became one of the defining formats of the early 2010s rage-comic era.
